Old Stranger is a five-piece alt/indie rock group from the Philly, PA area. The first version of Old Stranger started in 2005 and eventually evolved into its current version of Cort, MD, Kevin, Ian and Aaron. Cort (lead vocals/rhythm guitar) grew up in Wild Wonderful West Virginia, went to college, burned a few couches, and moved to Philadelphia in 2003. MD Rickers, originally from the area, graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in music, moved to Connecticut where he played with many bands in many venues. He moved back to Philly and joined Old Stranger in 2008. Kevin Buzby, who played in a brief cover band stint with Cort in 2005, had been conquering many lands as a member of the US Army. After spending some time in the military, overseas and back here, (and god only knows where else) moved back to Jersey and joined Old Stranger in August 2010. Ian went to high school with MD, and after many successful musical thrashings and triumphs, brought his sopping bassy influence to the band in August 2011. Aaron Weiss, a graduate from Penn State, joined forces with Old Stranger, his second band out of college, in 2013. As the band's first keyboard player, he brings an entirely new element to their sound that has been a long time coming.
